Having divorced fear from justice, and having reduced fear to an emotion, humanists have appealed to reason, experience, and science as the foundations for social order. In doing so, they fail to recognize that men are not rational animals but creatures made in the image of God, religious creatures. To build on any other foundation is to destroy law and order.
